MINERS TAKE 3 OUT OF 4 FROM INFIDELS

                                         Freddie Freeman leads Miners in Series Opener

The Miners opened the 2019 season by taking 3 out of 4 from the new and improved Ravenwood Infidels.  

Game 1
Infidels: 0-5-0
Miners: 1-5-0

The Miners hoisted their first OL Championship flag in pregame ceremonies. 
New Miner ace Chris Sale and Infidel starter Mike Foltynewicz both pitched 8 scoreless innings. The Miners scored the winning run in the 9th.  Freeman led the inning off with a
walk, Jeff Mathis hit a pinch hit double, Inciarte was given an intentional walk to load the
bases before Franchy Cordero hit a game winning pinch hit single.

Game 2 ( 15 innings)
Infidels: 9-20-0
Miners: 10-14-1

HR:  Freese, Betts, Freeman (2), Iglesias, S. Rodriguez (2), Freeman

Freddie Freeman hit a walkoff HR in the 15th off of the Infidels rookie sensation Walker Buehler to win this slugfest.  It was Freeman's second blast in a game which included 8 home runs.  Utility man Sean Rodriguez also launched 2 home runs in the game.  The Miners sent 9 pitchers to the mound but none of them could stop the Infidels. Chalk this one up to the Miners offense.

Miners: 1-6-1
Infidels: 3-5-0
L: Tanaka 5-5-3-2-1-6
W: T. Ross 7-5-1-1-0-5

The Infidels  exploded for 3 runs in the 8th to take this one.
Tyler Ross showed what he can do when he is not injured.


Game 4:
Miners: 5-6-0
Infidels: 4-9-0
W: J. Chavez
S: C. Kimbrel
L: T. Cole

HR: C. Santana, K. Davis

The Miners scored 3 runs in the 8th to win this one. Santana walked, Betts was HBP, Freeman
had a RBI double, Franchy Cordero was intentionally walked, Betts scored on a groundout and Ender Inciarte hit a sacrifice liner to center for the winning run.
