UNDERTAKERS WIN SERIES 3-1

Game 1: Gerrit Cole (LAU) vs. Marco Estrada ( Joplin )

LAU : 6-10-0
JOP:  3-6-1

Matt Carpenter led off with a home run and showed Joplin management his disgust in failing to sign the versatile All Star. 
Matt Kemp showed his gratitude to LAU management for taking a gamble by hitting a 2 run shot in the 4th and a sacrifice fly in the 8th.  Nolan Arenado singled in the LAU 2 run 9th for the 6-3 win.
Marco Estrada dropped to 1-2 on the year while LAU's Gerritt Cole raised his record to 7-1 by striking out 11 batters in 5 2/3 innings while only allowing 3 hits and 1 run. 



Game 2: Seth Lugo (LAU) vs. Chris Sale ( Joplin)

LAU: 5-10-1
JOP: 1-6-0

Jesus Aguilera cranked out 2 homers drove in 3 while Seth Lugo (5-0) blanked the Miners over 5 2/3 for a 5-1 win. Chris Sale dropped to 4-2 despite whiffing 10 batters in 6 innings. 



Game 3: Tanner Roark (LAU) v. Charlie Morton ( Joplin )

LAU: 2-7-1
JOP: 5-8-0

Carlos Santana hit a 2 run tater and Mookie Betts added a solo shot while Charlie Morton fanned 7 and allowed only 2 runs to raise his record to 3-1.  Craig Kimbrel picked up his 11th save. 

Game 4: Chris Archer ( LAU) v. Mashi Tanaka ( Joplin )

LAU: 13-14-0
JOP: 7-9-1

The Miners managed to knock out Chris Archer by touching him up for 5 runs in 3 innings.
Nevertheless, the Undertakers scored 13 runs, the most runs scored against the Miners so far this season. 

Home Runs: Astudillo, Arenado (2), Broxton (1), Betts, Pederson
Triples: Pederson, Ahmed

The Miners are currently 29-19 and 1 game behind the Salem Cowtippers.
